Diamonds From The Dust
As a choir of professional singers, we present innovative choral music through collaborative programming to expose both seasoned and newer concert audiences to diverse choral works created for small ensembles.

In January of 2016, the founding members of Diamonds From The Dust met at a local high school during Central Massachusetts Music Educator Festival. After much discussion, it was clear that there was a need for a professional chamber choir in the Central Massachusetts area. Coming from the education background, all three founding members were active music educators and wanted an opportunity to perform chamber repertoire in the highest quality. The three members created a mission statement focused upon innovation, quality, and sustainability. We were innovative with our programing. In order to stay relevant in the modern world, we need to engage an audience beyond the aural sense. Therefore, our concerts included non-musical elements such as personal stories, poetry, film and visual media along with the music to provide a complete sensory immersion. We focus on quality of performance by bringing together a group of professional singers. Lastly, we aim for sustainability of our art form by targeting both the traditional and non-traditional audience. By partnering with local museums, libraries, cafes, orchards, breweries, parks, and other non-traditional performance venues, we hope to connect with a wide variety of audience members who would not usually elect to attend a conventional choral concert program. As educators, we are committed to bringing meaningful, relevant, and emotionally moving experiences to our audience members. By generating enthusiasm and excitement for traditional and contemporary choral music through fine tuned performance and storytelling, we hope to connect with teenage and college age audience members as well as families with young children. These populations are the future patrons for art music concerts and their interest and support is crucial to the success and vitality of all music performing organizations
We successfully performed our first concert during Father’s Day in 2016. The concert was a huge success in many ways: we managed to perform in front a large audience; we received critical acclaim; and we launched our website (diamondsfromthedust.org) following the concert due to audience demand. The first Artistic Director decided to pursue graduate school and we officially instated Mark Mummert as the organization’s second Artistic Director. Mark brought with him experience, passion and focus that continues to inspire the roster of singers. We officially gained Tax Exempt Status 501(c)(3) on September 27, 2017. We are hoping to engage in the most ambitious concert season yet. The 2018-2019 Concert Season will be the organization's third year in existence and will include 5 concerts.
